PTO & Leave

Holidays, vacation, and other leave

Every Other Friday Off? Are You Mad?

Yes, it’s kind of like permanent summer hours – but different. The way it works is you put in longer hours and then get a day to recharge, travel, catch a cheap movie, go to the museum, get to the DMV when it’s empty, etc. If you are ever at a loss for what to do on your Friday off, ask someone who is working.

We have done our best to split the company into two even teams to try to keep a balance of skill and coverage. If you’re asked to switch your Friday teams, because you have skills that are in demand, it’s a compliment.

If you’d like to take every other Friday off:

Work 9 hours a day for 9 days and then take Friday off (work only 8 hours on your Friday “on”). You can work out with your manager if your hours are 7:30 to 5:30 or 8:00 until 6:00 but please be consistent.

Occasionally there will be a project or client that will need your attention on your Friday off. Please take ownership to see that work is done, done well, and do not leave teammates or clients hanging.

If you choose to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, that’s great also. Again, please be consistent.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO is for vacations, sick leave or personal time.
PTO is established on a anniversary-year basis.
We do not grant pay in lieu of time off—take your time off, it’s good for you.
PTO does not accrue while on extended leave of absence, short or long-term disability.
You can earn and carry a maximum of 20 days.
To request PTO, submit a TO request through Paylocity, it will track your T.

Unless otherwise negotiated here is our earned PTO schedule:

Should you leave the company, all PTO that you’ve earned for the anniversary year will be paid to you. If you have taken PTO that you have not yet earned, the total will be deducted from your final paycheck.
